Home Shopping with the Kids

Blog by Lynn Chamberlain | June 29th, 2011

Your choice of a new home is as important to your kids as it is to you. So it makes sense to take them along on home shopping excursions.

To ensure they don’t become impatient or exhausted too soon, bring some light, healthy snacks along. Also be sure to stop for regular washroom breaks. You do not want them to use the bathroom while you’re touring a home.

Another good tip is to get them involved in the home selection process. Ask them what they like and don’t like about the homes and neighborhoods you’re viewing. Bring crayons and paper for younger children so they can draw pictures of the homes they see.
